Matthews and Middleton take out Six Foot Track

Six Foot Track 45 kms

Katoomba to Jenolan Caves, NSW

Saturday 13 March 2010

Dr Alex Matthews has won this year’s Six Foot Track 45 kms in the outstanding time of 3.20.58. It was a chilly 7 degrees at the start, and the still cool conditions were perfect for running. David Criniti was runner up in 3.24.34 and Andrew Lee third in 3.30.24.

There was a major upset in the women when Albury’s Colleen Middleton, 8th in the World Long Distance Mountain Running Championship in 2009 finished ahead of Angela Bateup of Yass, 3rd and 5th respectively in the last two World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships. Middleton ran 4.03.19 and Bateup 4.06.06, with Michelle McAdam third in 4.12.55.

The next run coming up is the 11 km Kosciuszko Run this Friday from Charlotte Pass Village to the summit of Mt Kosziusko. Online entries remain open until Thursday at midday.
