Former dual Australian mountain running representative Stuart Doyle enjoyed the still, overcast conditions to post the good time of 11.28 in winning today’s Mt Ainslie Run Up from well known Masters cycling and duathlon champion Simon Claringbold and Aaron Coles.
Three-time world rogaining champion Julie Quinn who has won plenty of Mt Ainslie Run Ups clocked 14.43, with Coast to Kosciuszko record breaker Pam Muston running a sprightly 15.07 and sub 4:30 Six Foot runner Louise Sharp finishing third in 15.52.
Most noteworthy performance of the day was by Campbell High School student Rhys Kirk who zipped up the mountain in an impressive 14.33 in his debut run. Much younger fellow student Kynan Trotter also ran very well to clock 16.58.
This Sunday sees the NSW Mountain Running Championships on the Kedumba Track near Wentworth Falls, before the Australian Championships on Mt Tennent in the ACT on 22 May.
