Two-time Australian representative Stuart Doyle, 4th in the Australian Mountain Running Championship on 22 May, celebrated the first day of winter with a win in the Mt Ainslie Run Up. Plenty of rain in the previous week left the track soft and a bit slushy in a few places. So it was not surprising that Doyle was half a minute off his usual Run Up time this year. However, runner-up Simon Claringbold enjoyed the conditions and had his first sub-13 minute clocking for some time. Australian X-terra star Jason Chalker was a comfortable 3rd.
Marie Janczura had her first win, with Lucille Pedersen close behind.
