Jo Blake defends his Coast to Kosciuszko title

Commonwealth ultra running silver medallist Jo Blake from Sydney backed up his 2009 victory in the Coast to Kosciuszko with an outstanding win this year in 28 hrs 45 mins 22 seconds. Conditions were tough with very strong winds between Charlotte Pass and Mt Kosciuszko and freezing conditions overnight. Andrew Vize finished very strongly to take second in 30.05.50 and Gordi Kirkbank-Ellis was third in 31.20.36.

Sharon Stolz from Wangaratta in Victoria, 6th outright in the 2010 24 hour World Championships (224.885km), also ran very strongly over the second half of the course to take out the women’s race in 32.14.32 from Lisa Spink in 36.12.57 and Carol Lapys third in 36.56.57.
