Mt Tennent Trail Runs

Former Australian orienteering champion Rob Walter took out today’s 25 km Mt Tennent Trail Run in Namadgi National Park in 1.53.08, outlasting former Brindabella Classic champion David Hosking who ran 1.54.12, and 2009 World and Commonwealth ultra running champion Martin Fryer returning from a rest break with 1.56.49. Walter’s win followed up a 3rd place four weeks ago in the 64 km Bogong to Hotham in the Victoria alps.
Australian mountain running and trail running champion Vanessa Haverd used the 25 km as a test run to defend her title in the Six Foot Track 45 kms next month and was pleased to finish full of running in 2.11.11. Elizabeth Humphries was second in 2.20.57 and Kate Hodsdon third in 2.28.45.
James Stewart won the 12.6 km run to the summit and return in 1.08.34, with Tony Hrstic second in 1.14.09 and Sean McLoughlin third in 1.18.42. Zoe Cameron was fastest female in 1.23.43, Melissa Millard second in 1.26.04 and Sydney veteran Elizabeth Short third in 1.32.43.
The Bushfold Flats 10.6 km was won by Matthew Daly in 1.03.37, with Tony Henshaw second in 1.13.50, and Michael Burt third in 1.28.30.
