Flanery in great form for Six Foot Track in Mt Ainslie Run Up

Simon Claringbold came off winning a silver medal in the NSW Masters Cycling Team Pursuit on the weekend to add to his previous wins in the Mt Ainslie and Black Mountain Run Ups, clocking 13.16. A resurgent Patrick Kluth, second in 13.25, was one of several runners tuning up for the Six Foot Track Gramps Army team. Damian Green was third in 13.41.

Former Australian representative at the World Long Distance Mountain Running Championship Fleur Flanery showed she was in excellent form for Six Foot Track by clocking 13.44 in the warm, windy conditions. Kate Haylock had an outstanding Run Up debut in finishing second in 15.52 and W60 Masters competitor Caroline Campbell was in fine form in clocking 21.06.

Power walkers Michael Burt (19.16) and Monika Short (21.54) started off at the rear of the field but managed to maintain a good pace on the steep uphill sections.
