Sheppard grabs win on Black Mountain

Former Australian rogaining champion Adrian Sheppard continued his comeback after a long period out with injury by winning the March Black Mountain Run Up in Canberra. Sheppard was the inaugural winner and record holder of the Black Mountain Run Up and clocked 13.19, with Simon Claringbold second in 13.50 and Patrick Kluth third in 13.56.

Louise Sharp who had had to withdraw from Six Foot Track with injury had a comfortable run in 15.29, with Jane Zeller second in 17.36 in her debut run up the mountain.

Participation numbers were down in the wake of both the Six Foot Track run and Weston Creek half marathon being held on the previous weekend.
