Andrew Lee and Brendan Davies, Australian representatives at the 2010 World Long Distance Mountain Running Championship in the Pike’s Peak ascent, took the top two placings in this year’s Six Foot Track in 3.35.22 and 3.37.27, but times were somewhat slower than in 2009 and 2010, possibly due to pre-race rain and then a downpour during the race. Top orienteers Rob Walter and Anthony Scott were third and fourth in 3.38.35 and 3.40.46.

The fastest woman in 3.52.48 was New Zealander Anna Frost who has been one of the world’s leading mountain and trail runners for several years.  The fastest Australians were Australian mountain running champion Vanessa Haverd in 4.03.57, an excellent performance in a comeback from injury, Cradle mountain champion Beth Cardelli in 4.10.06 and 2.52 Melbourne marathon runner Lucy Blaber in 4.10.23.
