Stewart edges Goodhand in Black Mountain fog

Black Mountain Run Up, 2.6 kms, ACT

Tuesday 21 June

After a morning of 80 km per hour winds and sleeting rain, it was amazing that anyone turned up for today’s Black Mountain Run Up. Fortunately the storm front passed through in the nick of time and the race went ahead in fine but icy conditions with a zero degree wind chill temperature. At the summit, James Stewart and Jonathan Goodhand emerged from the foggy mist neck and neck, with Seb Dunne close behind. This proved to be the finish order, with Jane Zeller having a very good run to take out the women’s race from Louise Sharp and Margaret Phillips.
