Last month’s Mt Ainslie Run Up was the coldest in 15 years. Unfortunately strong icy winds today had another subzero windchill and snow storms could be seen in the distance dumping the white stuff in the Brindabella ranges.
Adrian Sheppard turned up on his bike at the last minute, rushed to change shoes, sprinted to the start line and with the adrenalin flowing was off like a shot, chalking up another win in a very respectable 12.52. Peter Young was second and Jason McCrae third.
Belinda Allison ran a strong 16.15 to be fastest female, with Helen Latmour making her debut in 17.55 and Monika Short power walking 22.14, her second walking workout of the day.
