Tuesday 3 January 2012
Former Australian mountain running champion Mark Bourne overcame the 35 degree heat to win Canberra’s first mountain running race of 2012, the Mt Ainslie Run Up. Oskar Booth from Broome in WA showed why he is one of the favourites for this weekend’s Bogong to Hotham ultra marathon by finishing 2nd in 12 minutes, with former Australian representative Stuart Doyle, the 2011 Bright Alpine Four Peaks winner, third in 12.09.
Deep Space marathon champion Louise Sharp was fastest female in a relatively close contest with Susie Kluth and Jessica Robson.
