Olliffe celebrates 100th run

Mt Ainslie Run Up stalwart Tony Olliffe celebrated his 100th Mt Ainslie Run Up on Melbourne Cup Day with a strong mid-field run of 16 mins 36 secs. Australian Mountain Running Championship silver medallist Mark Bourne put in a solid training run in the windy, hot conditions in 11.35 and Stuart Doyle was runner up in 12.19. Simon Claringbold was sore before the start from hard mountain biking and running legs in Sunday’s Triple Triathlon and ran more than a minute slower than normal in 14.47 for third.
World Championship representative Louise Sharp was the only female runner and just did a warm up run before a cross country race later in the day at Stromlo Forest Park.
