ABOUT THE COURSE
The Start
Runners start at Section 3 on the Manly Dam Grounds. It is easy to find and you will see our tents and finish arch when you arrive… (Check out the map in the info pack for clarification).
The Course
The majority of the 10.2km course is on the various trails that make up the Circuit Trail. Runners head along the Wildflower Walk Trail and follow this along for 2.5km before crossing a fire trail and continuing north along the Curl Curl track. In this section, runners will pass by two waterfalls and some splendid scenery. After crossing and then recrossing the pipeline runners head back towards the dam along Eva’s Track. When runners reach the 5km mark the trail becomes fire trail for the next two km’s with some fast and open running sections before runners head back into the the bush at the 7km mark for some more single trail. Travelling past the waters edge – along more single trail, runners then pop out at the Dam Wall at the 9km mark. Runners cross the Manly Dam wall and tackle the last climb on the Nature Tail as they make their way back to and over the finish line at Section 3.
Course Markings
You will not need a map for this run, the entire course will be marked with Pink Ribbon and Arrows. Marshalls are in place at critical junctions to ensure you are kept on course.
Aid Stations:
There will be a water fill up point at 2.5km and 6km. Mountain Sports runs a NO CUP policy on the course and all runners must comply with the single mandatory item – carry 500ml of fluids. You will be able to top up your water at each of the aid stations.
Finish Line Aid:
There will be a full recovery station at the end of the race. This includes Fruit, Coke, HEED (Hammer Nutrition) and Water. If you require anything outside these items – please provide it for yourself.
First Aid
Mountain Sports employ professional first aid services -upon entering the race you will need to answer a few medical questions. These are so we can treat you in the most appropriate manner if the need arises. Any details provided will be kept strictly confidential.
