Mt Ainslie Run Up
2.3km ACT
Tuesday 1 January 2013
Weather: hot, 33 degrees, mild breeze.

It was surprising that 20 keen people turned up on a 33 degree day for the first run of 2013, although they said a cooling breeze made the conditions quite tolerable. They included a number of Canberra running and triathlon legends in Trevor Jacobs, Bob Harlow, Rad Leovic and Caroline Campbell, all medallists in various world masters competitions.
18 year old Matthew Zeitlhofer impressed on debut by proving too strong on the steepest uphill section for Mt Ainslie regular Simon Claringbold, clocking 13.33, with Claringbold 22 seconds behind. Peter Burke produced a strong finish to claim 3rd in 14.36.
Carol Harding was first female in 17.35, ahead of first timers Fiona Bannerman in 22.17 and Heather Powrie in 22.37.
