Mt Ainslie Run Up
2.3 kms, ACT
Tuesday 2 April 2013
ACT junior orienteer Bryce Anderson spent the Easter weekend altitude training at Perisher, including finishing 2nd in the Perisher to Charlotte’s Pass fun run. This training paid off when he improved his personal best up Mt Ainslie today from 12.54 to 12.12, eclipsing the 12.19 personal best of Australia’s top junior male orienteer Oliver Poland. It suggests that Anderson will be serious contender at the Australian Junior Men’s Mountain Running Championship on Mt Stromlo on 2 June.
Second in 12.44 was Vince Craig who was hoping to add a victory on Mt Ainslie to his Black Mountain Run Up win a fortnight ago. Jonathan Escalante-Phillips, an interstate visitor, was 3rd in 12.49.
Kerri Louttit was fastest female in 18.52, from Margaret Phillips in 19.18 and Matilda Thomas in 23.19.
