Mark Bourne was in recovery mode after winning the World Stair Racing Championship one week earlier and was in cruise mode up Black Mountain for most of the distance before upping his pace over the last km to secure a 10 second victory over Nick Horspool in 18.17, well outside Scott McTaggart’s record of 16.42. Jono Windsor was 3rd in 19.06.

Louise Sharp had a strong run to blitz the women’s field with a time of 23.11 and finish 16th outright. Heather Davidson was 2nd in 25.11 and Kym Chisholm 3rd in 25.32. The women’s record is 20.00 by Jackie Fairweather.
