There was a record field of 35 participants in the lunchtime Black Mountain Run Up and Power Walk, largely due to a record women’s field of 12, much higher than normal.
The men’s race was a close contest with Grant Bluett securing a narrow win in 13.42 over Simon Claringbold and James Stewart. The high quality women’s field saw former world rogaining champion Julie Quinn with a comfortable victory in 14.44 from top orienteers Allison Jones and Anita Scherrer.
