Wightman, Kenessy & Caley best of the Aussies at World Championships

The Australia mountain running team has experienced the most technical course in the 30 year history of World Mountain Running Championships, with a 3 km stretch of rocky ground being the most difficult to traverse. The highest place getter was Reuben Caley in the Junior Men who finished 27th for the 8.4 km course in 49.17. Nick Wightman and Gemma Kenessy were the highest placed in the senior men’s and women’s races, both finishing 67th, Nick in 1.04.09 for the 11.7 km men’s course, and Gemma 1.01.45 for the 8.4 km women’s course.
