  1. LATE ENTRIES: will be accepted online until 5pm on Saturday 7 March. Please download the event details and enter online at https://www.registernow.com.au/secure/Register.aspx?E=15960
Entries on the day on 9 March close at 7.30am.
  2. Please note that the start/finish and courses are different from last year.
  3. All events over 10km, 15km and 25km start together at 8am at Calwell No.1 sports field, Were St, Calwell (this is on the right as you enter the sports field precinct off Were St). Yellow Pages map 36: B8. There is plenty of parking and there are toilets at the start/finish.
  4. The 10km and 15km events are out and back courses; the 25km is also out and back but does a 6km loop in Mt Rob Roy reserve. Elevation gains: 970m for the 25k course; 470m for the 15k; 160m for the 10k.
  5. Please arrive early (and no later than 7.40am), collect your chest number at registration as soon as you arrive and warm up and visit the loo early. Please wear your chest number on the front of your T shirt so it is clearly visible as you approach the finish. This will greatly assist the finish recorders.
  6. The event information and maps of the courses can be seen at http://www.coolrunning.com.au/calendar/public_html/2015/2015e004.pdf
  7. Weather forecast for Monday: Most sunny 12 to 29 degrees. UV index very high. So come prepared for warm weather with sun protection. There is also a chance that slower competitors doing the 25 km might see a snake. Please stop and let the snake slither away if you encounter a snake. Please read the section on first aid for snake bite in the following: http://www.anaes.med.usyd.edu.au/venom/snakebite.html  In summary, if bitten, stop still, firmly bandage the affected area (use your running singlet) and get the next runner on the course to seek urgent assistance for you.
  8. Please note that some sections of the 15 km and 25 km courses have quite steep up hills and down hills, and the surface is slippery in places because of lack of rain. It is important that you wear trail running shoes with very good grip and that you take care on these sections, and some other sections where the surface is stony and rough. For the great majority of all courses, you are running on a very well surfaced fire trail. The courses will be marked with red or yellow signs with black arrows, white signs with black crosses (signifying an incorrect side trail), some large wooden fluoro signs with black arrows, and witches hats for the start/finish stretch.
  9. You will be running on trails in either Canberra Nature Park or private farmland. Please do not drop any rubbish such as cups or gel wrappers along the way. Leave any rubbish at the drink stations.
  10. Finish procedure
You must check in at the finish tables and ensure your chest number and name are recorded on the list for your event, then take off your chest number and put it in the box for the barrel prize draws. There will be a separate recording pad for each of the 10k, 15k and 25k so ensure you are recorded for the correct distance. Both 10k runners and walkers will be recorded on the 10k pad and 15k runners and walkers on the 15k pad. The computer results afterwards will separately list runners and walkers.
  11. Presentations: It is aimed to have 10k run and walk and 15k run presentations around 10am and the rest around 11am or soon after. There will be muesli bars, soft drink, water, sports drink, and water melon at the finish. At the Calwell shopping centre nearby along Were St, there is a bakery and coffee shop.
